Students Union
An active students union organises a series of events, some with a serious orientation, others for sheer enjoyment. A number of clubs and societies cater to specific interests. Debating Societies (Hindi & English), Nature Club, Gandhi Study Circle, Dramatics Society, Fine Arts Society,  Music and Dance Society, Women Development Cell, Film Society to name a few. In addition, academic activities (debates, quizzes, seminars, exhibitions, etc.) are organised by Department Associations.
You are required to join at least two of  these societies.

Dramatics society------ I.PCollege has a long tradition of producing full length plays. We have about 60 production to the credit of the dramatics society. In the last three years the college has produced several  one act plays & four full length plays. in 1998-1999 the dramatics society produced a play in Hindi called Mere Shahar Ki Pagal Aurat.   

In 1999-2000 we produced Badal Sircars Evam Indrajit in Engkish translation with Girish Karnad. It was the first time that the dramatics society travelled with its play to Kolkata. The artists performance and the production received a great applause and very good and encouraging media coverage. along with this the society also produced Ek Ekant Aur Ek basedon Nirmal vermas story. We also staged our plays in I.I.T Roorkee.It was also staged in the French Cultural centre Chandigarh and Hungarian cultural centre in Delhi. A big show of the play was held Akshara Theatre and Habitat Centre in New-Delhi.

In 2000-2001 we produced Mahasweta Devi Se Darta Hai Kaun? it was a play based on a real story of a Denotified tribe man named "Budhan" who was killed in police custody on the pretext of being a thief. Smt. Mahasweta Devi  an eminent social worker and a writer fought his case and won it and got compensation for the family. This play drew the attention of all the drama critics in the city and in Kolkata & Mumbai where the play cast traveled with the production. Five shows were held in Kolkata four shows in Mumbai -S. N . D. T University in the presence of its Vice-Chancellor, Bandra Band Stand Bandra Sea Side,Tata Institute of Social Sciences Chembur & Y.W.C.A Andheri west. The play was very well received where ever it was staged for its sensitivity and the performance of the students. It was also staged at Sri Ram Centre at Mandi House & at Habitat Centre New-Delhi.

In 2001-2002 the dramatics society took up a difficult task of producing a Hindi version based on a  Sanskrit classic - Vishakha Dutts Mudrarakshas. This play also traveled to Kolkata and won the hearts of theatre lovers. It was also staged at LTG Theatre in Mandi House.

All our productions acclaimed very good reviews in the print media. 

The Dance society is also very active its Choreography team  won many laurels for the college in Inter- College & Inter University Competitions.

Abhivyakti produced two full length plays in 2003. Wolf Man by Arun Sarma was staged at India habitat center in September 2003 as a part of Old World Theatre Festival organized by IHC. In November we produced a play called 9/11-Abdul Hannan Ki Naun Mautain Gyaraha Drishyon Mein Directed by Dr. Manasvini .M. Yogi advisor Dramatics society.

In 2005 abhivyakti staged   mohan rakeshs aashad ka ek din  directed by Dr. Manasvini M Yogi

In 2006 Girish Karnads yayati was staged directed by Dr. Manasvini M Yogi

Sports
We have a sports tradition that is the envy of other colleges. Our sports women have brought us honour on National Teams and several have represented India in their particular fields.

Some of  our famous sports personalities are :

Rita Puri : member of the National Women's Hockey Team that represented India at the first Asian Women Hockey Championship.

Neetu Chandra : represented India at the World Tae-Kwando Championship.

Manjula Dhankar : National Gymnastics Champion.

Devinder Khokkar : participated in 1982 Asian Games (Hockey).

Suman Chaddha : equalled the National Cycling Record.

Meeta Sharma : participated as National Representative in several International Judo Championships.

The college has a well-equipped Gymnasium, extensive playing fields and a swimming pool.

The latter stands as a proud symbol of student's initiative - they began the digging work themselves! Nothing was going to stand in their way - they wanted a swimming pool and they made one.  I.P. is  the only women's  college in the University to boast of a swimming pool. .

Sports offered by the college include Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Handball, Kho-kho, Gymnastics and Judo. Special coaching classes are organised frequently for students in various fields.

You can try your hands and break the bricks- learn Judo and Tae-kwando.

National Cadet Corps
Indraprastha College
has one of the finest records in the University of Delhi for participation in the N.C.C. Our cadets have frequently been selected for arduous treks and  training camps.
Trekking, mountaineering, abseiling and paratrooping are only a few of the physical activities in which our cadets are trained.

Preet Kamal has done the college proud by getting selected in 1997 by the Officer's Training Academy, Chennai, to pursue a career in the armed forces.

National Service Scheme
Students with a desire for community work find fulfillment in the activities of the
N.S.S. Adult education projects, reading projects for the visually impaired and Blood Donation Camps have been the chief activities of the N.S.S. Our students have also been quick to respond to natural catastrophes around the country, by setting up collection centres for food, clothes, blankets etc., and several have participated in community work in the wake of disasters that have befallen the city from time to time.

Nature Club
Our students are environment conscious : garbage is separated into biodegradable and non-degradable. Leaves, etc, are turned to compost. Tree conservation and tree planting are a way of life with us. Lectures, demonstrations, etc., are regularly held to make the student aware of the necessity of being Eco-friendly.
